Ingredients
Step 1 — Toppings (prepare or buy at Filipino market)
- Sweetened red beans (langka)
- Sweetened white beans
- Nata de coco
- Kaong (sugar palm fruit)
- Sweetened banana (minatamis na saging)
- Gulaman jelly (cubed)
- Ube halaya (purple yam jam)
- Leche flan (sliced)
- Shaved or crushed ice
Step 2 — Finish
- Evaporated milk
- Ube ice cream (optional)
- Pinipig (toasted rice flakes)

Layer the toppings
In tall glasses, layer a spoonful each of sweet beans, nata de coco, kaong, banana, gulaman, and ube halaya. Add a slice of leche flan.

Add ice and milk
Fill glasses with shaved ice mounded high. Pour evaporated milk over the top. Add a scoop of ube ice cream if desired.

Mix and enjoy
Sprinkle with pinipig. Mix everything together with a long spoon before eating — halo-halo means 'mix-mix' in Tagalog.
