Sesame Chicken
Crispy chicken bites coated in a sweet, sticky sesame sauce. A beloved American-Chinese dish that's simple to make and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients
Step 1 — Marinate and coat the chicken
- 1.5 lbs boneless chicken thighs (cut into bite-size pieces)
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- ½ cup cornstarch
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Step 2 — Make the sesame sauce
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- ½ cup water
- 3 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Step 3 — Serve
- Steamed white rice
- Sliced green onions

Fry the chicken
Toss chicken with egg and soy sauce, then coat in cornstarch. Heat 2 inches of oil to 350°F. Fry chicken in batches 5–6 minutes until golden and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

Make the sauce
Whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ketchup, sesame oil, garlic, cornstarch, and water. Simmer in a wok 2–3 minutes until thick and glossy. Stir in 2 tbsp sesame seeds.

Glaze and serve
Toss fried chicken in the sesame sauce. Garnish with remaining sesame seeds and green onions. Serve over steamed rice.
