Step 1 — Apple filling
- 6 medium apples (peeled, cored, sliced)
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
Step 2 — Oat crumble topping
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
Step 3 — To serve
- Vanilla ice cream
- Whipped cream (optional)

Prep the apples
Preheat oven to 350°F. Toss apple slices with sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Spread evenly in a greased 9×9 baking dish.

Make the crumble
Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in cold butter with fingers or a pastry cutter until pea-sized crumbs form. Scatter evenly over apples.

Bake and serve
Bake 40–45 minutes until topping is golden and apples are bubbling at the edges. Rest 10 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
