Filipino Pork BBQ
Sweet and savory pork skewers marinated in soy sauce, calamansi, and banana ketchup, grilled over charcoal. The street food that defines Filipino summers.

Ingredients
Step 1 — Marinade
- 2 lbs pork shoulder (thinly sliced)
- ½ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup calamansi or lemon juice
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup banana ketchup or tomato ketchup
- 6 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
Step 2 — Grill
- Bamboo skewers (soaked in water)
- Banana ketchup (for basting)
Step 3 — Serve
- Garlic fried rice
- Achara
- Toyomansi dipping sauce

Marinate
Combine pork with all marinade ingredients. Mix well and marinate at least 1 hour (overnight is best).

Skewer and grill
Thread pork onto soaked skewers. Grill over medium-high heat 3–4 minutes per side, basting with banana ketchup, until caramelized and cooked through.

Serve hot with garlic rice, achara, and toyomansi for dipping.
