Ingredients
Step 1 — Whisk the sauce
- 3 tbsp fish sauce
- 3 tbsp warm water
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 1 Thai bird chile (sliced)
- Optional: 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- Optional: shredded carrot for garnish

Dissolve and combine
Dissolve sugar in warm water. Whisk in fish sauce, lime juice, garlic, and chile. Add vinegar if you want extra tang.

Taste — it should be salty, sweet, sour, and spicy in balance. Serve with goi cuon, bun bowls, or grilled meats. Best used within 3 days.
