- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari)
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Step 2 — For the Stir-fry
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 8 oz egg noodles or your favorite pasta
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- 1
Prepare Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using) until smooth. Set aside.
- 2
Cook Noodles
Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside. You can toss them with a tiny bit of oil to prevent sticking.
- 3
Cook Beef
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.

Stir-fry Broccoli
Add broccoli florets to the same skillet (add a splash more oil if needed). Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp. You can add a tablespoon of water and cover for 1-2 minutes to steam if desired.

Combine and Serve
Return the beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Give the sauce a quick whisk and pour it over the beef and broccoli. Cook, stirring, for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to combine. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
