- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water or beef broth

- 2 tbsp high-heat oil (like canola or vegetable oil)
- 1 lb broccoli florets
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
Step 4 — For Serving
- Cooked white or brown rice
Instructions
- 1
Marinate Beef
In a medium bowl, combine thinly sliced beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp cornstarch, baking soda (if using), and 1 tbsp water. Toss to coat. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature while you prepare the other ingredients.
- 2
Prepare Stir-Fry Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together all stir-fry sauce ingredients: 1/4 cup soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, 1 tsp cornstarch, and 1/4 cup water or broth. Set aside.
- 3
Cook Beef
Heat 1 tbsp of high-heat oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer (cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding). Sear for 1-2 minutes per side until browned but still slightly pink inside. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.

Stir-Fry Vegetables
Add the remaining 1 tbsp of oil to the skillet. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender-crisp. Add minced garlic and grated ginger and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 5
Combine and Finish
Pour the prepared stir-fry sauce into the skillet with the vegetables. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and toss to coat everything in the sauce. Cook for another minute until heated through.
