Frikadellen
German pan-fried meat patties seasoned with mustard, parsley, and soaked bread — juicier than a burger and served warm or cold in a Brötchen with mustard.

Ingredients
Step 1 — Patty mixture
- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ lb ground pork
- 1 small onion (grated)
- 2 slices bread (soaked in milk, squeezed)
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
Step 2 — Cook and serve
- 2 tbsp butter or oil
- Mustard
- Brötchen rolls
- Pickles
- Kartoffelsalat (optional)

Mix the Frikadellen
Combine all ingredients gently — do not overwork. Shape into oval patties about ¾ inch thick.

Pan-fry
Cook in butter over medium heat 4–5 minutes per side until deeply browned outside and cooked through. Work in batches if needed.

Serve hot with mustard and potato salad, or cold in a roll for a classic German picnic sandwich.
