Thick, tangy strained yogurt cheese drizzled with olive oil and za'atar. A Middle Eastern staple for bread, vegetables, and mezze.

Ingredients
Step 1 — Strain the yogurt
- 4 cups full-fat plain yogurt
- 1 tsp kosher salt
Step 2 — Serve
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Za'atar
- Fresh mint or dill
- Warm pita bread
- Olives and cucumbers (optional)

Strain overnight
Stir salt into yogurt. Line a colander with cheesecloth, set over a bowl, and add yogurt. Cover and refrigerate 12–24 hours until thick and spreadable.

Shape and serve
Transfer labneh to a serving plate. Use the back of a spoon to create swirls. Drizzle generously with olive oil and sprinkle with za'atar and herbs. Serve with pita and vegetables.
